Search Warrant thrown out in Wheelon Case; Case all but over

On Friday May 15, Blount County Circuit Court Judge Tammy Harrington said the authorities skirted the law in gathering evidence, violating 4th amendment rights of Larry Wheelon deeming the search “invalid”. The judge also said that “undercover” visits to a barn without a warrant while no on is there is unconstitutional. Barns are not public and she likened the situation to visiting Alcoa or a Day Care. She ended the hearing saying ” the Constitution applies to everyone, and that includes those in the business of training Tennessee walking horses. They’re not any more open to illegal searches and seizures than anyone else.”
